Our mandate is to promote the five freedoms for all animals:
1.) Freedom hunger and thirst.
2.) Freedom from pain injury and disease.
3.) Freedom from distress.
4.) Freedom from discomfort.
5.) Freedom to express behaviours that promote well being.
Our warrant area is the largest in the Province, extending north to Peachland, south to Osoyoos, East to Bridesville and West to Princeton.
Yearly, on average, we investigate: - 1200 complaints, - field 16,000 telephone calls, - travel 140,000 kilometers and - care for 1,600 animals. In addition to all these tasks we provide temporary shelter and find permanent homes for abandoned and unwanted animals. We also respond to ambulance calls for injured animals throughout the warrant area. Also, we work to educate the community about cruelty prevention, responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying or neutering your pet.
