The taqəš and Other Works program features a stunning lineup of signature works from Ballet Kelowna’s contemporary ballet repertoire. With Kirsten Wicklund’s exhilarating The Forever Part, Guillaume Côté’s mesmerizing Bolero, and Cameron Fraser-Monroe’s powerful and compelling taqəš [tawKESH], this high-energy program promises to please a wide range of spectators.
Kirsten Wicklund’s The Forever Part explores the inherent tension of the permanence of forever – a concept fueled by both yearning and desire as well as anxiety and confinement. This work is set to a compelling and divergent score of some of J.S. Bach’s greatest works (Toccata and Fugue in D minor; Goldberg Variations, BWV 988: Aria da capo) as well as original music by Wicklund.
