Job Description of Security Pool Deck / Public Areas

As a Security Guard, you will undertake the surveillance of our premises and the protection of our staff and guests. In addition, you will be responsible for detecting any suspicious happenings and preventing vandalism, thefts, or any other criminal behavior, and ensuring compliance with liquor licensed areas. Security Guards will report directly to the Guest Services Manager, in the absence of Senior Leadership.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent service to guests, residents, employees and the general public
• Respond to accidents and assist guests/employees during emergency situations
• Defuse guest disturbances and escort individuals from the property if necessary
• Complete required shift reports and maintain confidentiality of all loss prevention documents
• Complete Incident Reports and Administrative duties as required
• Ensure compliance with Strata guidelines regarding usage of pool/ hot tubs and beach.
• Complaince with liquor licensed areas
• Perform regular walks of the guestroom floors and other areas to ensure all are clean, safe, and secure
• · Monitor all access points and provide access as needed
• · Enforce the rules of the hotel to ensure the safety and security of hotel guests, visitors to the property, employees and hotel property
• Perform duties to close the pool and fitness centre
• Perform additional maintenance, cleaning or service tasks assigned by Supervisors, Department Managers, or General Manager
• Work with the front desk department to run amenities to guest rooms as needed
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical, preventative maintenance procedures, and reasonable understanding of building equipment hand tools
• Conduct routine visual inspections of the building (maintenance issues, repairs, etc)
• Respond to all building/hotel emergencies, including guest and facility related emergencies
• Assist with the emergency procedures, including fire alarms, evacuation or lockdown
• Ensure emergency exits and routes to muster station are clean at all time eg: snow and debris removal as necessary
• Protect all confidential information of our guests, our colleagues and company and our business associates.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team as well as independently
• Ability to focus on guest needs, remain calm and professional at all times
• Able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Must have a valid work permit
• Previous Security or other hospitality experience preferred
• Physical Requirements
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly
• Completion of CPR and Standard First Aid

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 5 months

Salary: Up to $18.00 per hour
