Housekeeper Part time/Casual

Job Title: Housekeeper – Better at Home- Osoyoos

Supervisor: Program Coordinator

This position is for 2-15 hours per week as needed in Osoyoos. Shifts are typically 2 hours and scheduled in advance. Workdays/Hours: Tuesday to Friday- Hours and length of shifts are flexible between 8:30am -4:30pm. This is the ideal position for someone looking for a flexible schedule and meaningful work.

JOB SUMMARY

The Better at Home Program provides assistance to seniors with simple, non-medical services that support the participant’s ability to continue living independently in their home. The services are intended to assist participants to achieve the greatest degree of independence and quality of life possible, according to their choice. The Housekeeper is responsible to perform light housekeeping duties as agreed to when assigned. Duties will vary depending on the preferences and needs of the senior and will be defined by Program Coordinator in consultation with the housekeeping.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Physical ability to perform housekeeping duties
• Strong interpersonal skills, empathic, good communication and listening skills, honest & trustworthy
• Demonstrated ability to relate to seniors and families with respect and acceptance
• Reliable transportation
• Comfortable using personal protective equipment to ensure safety of clients and self

REQUIRED

Successful completion of:

• Criminal record check
• Personal and professional references
• Must have a vehicle

• Completion of Better at Home orientation
• Signed Confidentiality Agreement.
• Adherence to Desert Sun policies and procedures, program operations manual and commitment to Code of Ethics.

WORKING CONDITIONS Housekeeping duties are performed in the home of the participant. Assignment may be a one-time activity or a regular scheduled assignment (e.g., once every two weeks). Duties will be agreed to in advance including expectation of time to complete assignment.
