    Job Overview

    Reporting to the Director of Farming, the Vineyard Manager is responsible for collaboratively running Phantom Creek Estates vineyards, totaling up to 200 acres when fully planted. The Vineyard Manager is responsible for ensuring vineyards are maintained to PCE standards at all times and that they continue to produce outstanding grapes.

    Job Responsibilities

    Vineyard Management and Crew Supervision (50%)

    · Ensuring the companies standards for viticulture are carried out, to produce the required quality and quantity of grapes to meet the business plan.

    · Responsible for providing both training and supervision to the Mexican and local crews.

    · Responsible for training and supervision of vineyard foreman and tractor drivers.

    · Responsible for the day-to-day work flow in assigned PCE Vineyards.

    · Willing to assist with transportation of equipment, and all tractor operations when required.

    · Executing all vineyard establishment and replanting projects under direction from Viticulturist.

    · Responsible for ensuring all irrigation, spray, nutrient, canopy management and pruning plans as set out by the Viticulturist are carried out.

    Administrative Duties (30%)

    · Record keeping for all vineyard consumable inputs.

    · Responsible for spray records.

    · Responsible for ensuring materials and supplies are well stocked.

    · Assisting the Viticulturist in developing the annual vineyard operating budget.

    · Assisting the Viticulturist in developing any vineyard establishment or replanting budgets.

    · Monitoring and record keeping of crew hours and timesheets.

    Property Management (20%)

    · Ensuring the Mexican worker house is kept maintained and in good condition year-round.

    · Ensuring all PCE properties are kept immaculately presented at all times, including vines, headlands, non-vine vegetations, and road frontages.

    · Keeping all Black Sage vineyard buildings clean, tidy and well maintained.

    · Ensuring all machinery and equipment is maintained to a schedule and repaired as necessary.

    Job Qualifications

    · Formal qualification in viticulture preferred.

    · Minimum of 3-5 years vineyard management experience.

    · Experience operating and maintaining tractors and other vineyard machinery.

    · Proven people management skills.

    · Ability to speak Spanish a definite asset.

    · Experience with or enthusiasm for organic and biodynamic viticulture.


    Depending on the individual, this position could grow into a Viticulturist position.

    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
    Contract length: 12 months

    Salary: $68,712.35-$81,500.79 per year
