Trish Stevens Physiotherapy
I apply a whole body approach. Over the years I have worked as a physio I continue to take courses to stay current and learn new techniques to help people achieve optimum function. My free time is spent doing yoga, running, walking, gardening, snowshoeing and being with my family.
Orthopaedics (eg – sprains and strains, plantar fascitis, joint replacements), persistent pain (eg – spine pain, Fibromyalgia, Headaches, MVA), TMJ dysfunction, posture, pelvic pain (non internal treatment) and vertigo are some examples of what I treat.
Research into neuroplasticity and the science around how the brain constructs pain has opened new treatment approaches to persistant pain. Education and exercise are important components to changing long term pain.
In my physiotherapy practice I use exercise, dryneedling (IMS), education, manual therapy, BIOFLEX laser, cranio sacral therapy and other modalitites. Recurring dysfunctions in some patients led me to learn JP Barral’s techniques of Visceral/Articular/Neural/Vascular Manipulation and I became a teaching assistant in this program. This is an osteopathic based treatment style and is very gentle. http://www.barralinstitute.com
