South Okanagan Chamber of Commerce becomes the first chamber in British Columbia to join the Chamber Perks App™
August 15th, 2025:
The South Okanagan Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Canadian tech startup Chamber Perks App™, an innovative platform that helps chambers support local businesses while rewarding community members for shopping locally.
With this partnership, South Okanagan becomes the first chamber in British Columbia to join the Chamber Perks App™. This alliance allows Chamber businesses to offer exclusive local perks to a wider audience and gain brand visibility. The app already includes over 20,000 Canadian businesses and more than 1,900 perks from over 60 cities across the country.
The partnership originated through the Canadian Chamber Executive program, where the South Okanagan Chamber team first came across the Chamber Perks App
™.
“We had been looking for something like this for the last few years—a Canadian tech platform that understands both chambers’ and small businesses’ challenges,” says
Denise Blashko, Executive Director of the South Okanagan Chamber of Commerce.
"The Chamber Perks App™ fits our needs perfectly. It allows us to support our members all year with an affordable way to increase their visibility and to promote their local special offers and events.”
Currently, over 200 South Okanagan chamber member businesses are enrolled on the app, with the number of perks growing each week. For locals in the region, the app provides an avenue to discover and support local businesses while receiving helpful savings. Consumers can enjoy special perks in their local community as well as during their travels, they can also access deals from other Canadian communities through the national app network.
Karen Hastie, founder of the Chamber Perks App™, said, “We’re thrilled to welcome the South Okanagan Chamber of Commerce as the first chamber in British Columbia to join the Chamber Perks App. Residents in the South Okanagan can now enjoy meaningful savings by redeeming exclusive perks at local businesses, while also gaining access to over 1,900 perks available in more than 60 cities across Canada. We’re excited to help businesses grow, communities thrive, and consumers save money.”
One of the platform’s standout features is the ability for businesses to offer B2C, B2B, or online perks, while receiving real-time feedback on perk engagement and views.
While providing a tech-savvy partner, the app also caters to the consumer behaviours in smaller communities.
“In our region, people still love the idea of a coupon book,” Blashko said. “But now we’ve got technology that does the same job more efficiently, updates in real-time, and is Canadian, which really matters to us and our members.”
By going digital, the Chamber is equipping businesses with a modern resource, but also making it easier for consumers to discover and redeem offers close to the community, which helps circulate the money within the local economy.
“Canadian businesses of all sizes are under severe pressure from increasing tariffs. They are dealing with rising costs, supply chain issues, and global competition,” Hastie said. “With the Chamber Perks App™, we’re helping Canadians find and support local businesses across the country in practical ways. This partnership with the South Okanagan Chamber of Commerce is an important step for improving local economies and creating strong communities.”
